Best time to buy a snowboard?

I want to buy a snowboard but my budget is around 0-300 for a snowboard. The boards i see are the generic type ones and the one that i kinda wanted is a nitro target? Im a noob but i dont want to just waste 200 to just a year later upgrade to a brand name one. When is the best time to buy a snowboard on sale? Is there such thing as a after christmas sale or should i just wait to buy after the season is done? which is like March-april? Oh and how easy is it to find after year sales on websites like the house.com and sierra.com?

Where can I get cheap snowboarding/skiing clothing?

I plan on snowboarding for the first time ever in about a month ( christmas eve weekend) and I am wondering where I can get cheap snowboarding clothing, like snowpants, a good jacket and some gloves?
Would walmart sell anything?

Does anyone know how good ride snowboard is?

For christmas i got a snowboard called the Ride cue. For my bindings I got ride and for my boots i got burton tribures.
Can anyone tell me how good my equipment is?
